Adcock Ingram Enjoys Growth with X/procureŽ

Leading pharmaceutical company Adcock Ingram, has enjoyed a long-term partnership with Primedia Unlimited subsidiary, X/procureŽ to promote many of its brands. Its latest campaign for products Topzole and Zefroxe has over the last 6 months, resulted in a phenomenal 122% growth for Topzole compared to same period last year and 9.44% for Zefroxe.

"X/procureŽ designed an innovative marketing campaign specifically for these products," says Deon Lewis, MD X/procureŽ. "We utilised a combination of the available mediums we offer and tied this in with an exciting competition to reward advertisers. The result of combined efforts is increased awareness and sales, significantly in the case of Topzole."

"One of the main drivers of the competition on our system was our Browser Screen, which enjoys high viewership numbers. Combining the Intervention ads and Banners, awareness of the products and the competition was greatly increased."

Zefroxe, an antibiotic for chest infections, is one of many Cefuroxime generics on the market. Although a difficult market to dominate, with the help of X/procureŽ Zefroxe has shown substantial growth since its launch in October last year. Topzole, used for ulcers and stomach related illnesses, is the first generic to market in the Proton Pump Inhibitors class. Topzole was launched on X/procureŽ early last year and has owned the category ever since.

"Not only does X/procureŽ monitor and report on the sales at pharmacy level which assists with my decision making," explains Adam, "the pharmacists are reminded of our brand every time they use the system. The value received from this platform far outweighs the investment in advertising."

Using a linked advert whereby a product or category search can be linked to the desired product, Adcock Ingram is able to communicate directly with pharmacists every time they log into the ordering or dispensing system.

"This platform has been ideal for Adcock Ingram's products and continues to add value in terms of product exposure," adds Lewis. "The results speak for themselves, both products have shown significant growth when compared to the same period of time last year."
