Dear colleagues,

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Yusuf Abramjee as “Head of Corporate Affairs/Communication” for Primedia’s advertising division. Yusuf will still maintain his role as Head of News and Current Affairs at Broadcasting and will divide his time between his two roles.

Primedia operates in a competitive and high profile business environment. Yusuf will be responsible for the management and enhancement of Primedia’s reputation and image through productive networks with key stakeholders, in particular government. The role will work closely with the Head of the Strategic Advertising Unit, Trevor Ormerod.

Some of Yusuf’s other responsibilities will include:

• High level negotiations with government departments.
• Representing and promoting the interests of Primedia to government;
• Building relationships with government personnel, thereby acting as a senior Primedia representative in the corporate dealings with governmental and other national interest groups;
• Promoting Primedia’s image to government by establishing a strategy and framework of contact for the company with government officials; and,
• Promoting an understanding of Primedia’s media offering among the government officials;

We wish Yusuf well in his new role!!

Yusuf and Trevor will present their plan of action at the next Adco meeting.
