Indian community radio station Lotus FM, contracted ComutaNet to extend the station’s celebrations to its huge audience, and to potential listeners. The public broadcaster branded a massive fleet of 121 Mega Buses with celebratory messages and images of popular Lotus fm presenters with corresponding show timeslots bolstering the “25 years and still going strong” campaign.

Sporting local favourite slots such as Manick in the Mix, Lunch with Varshan and On the Road with Rakesh, the branded buses are traversing their busy routes throughout South Africa until January 2009 raising public awareness of their anniversary, thus reinforcing their attraction to listeners, and value to advertisers, as the campaign persuades listeners to tune in to the popular shows.

Craig Doubtfire, ComutaNet General Manager: Sales says, “Bus advertising is a very cost-effective media platform. ComutaNet’s national bouquet of 8 500 bus advertising opportunities enable small-to-medium businesses local, or national platforms able to be geographically tailored to suit any advertising campaign’s strategic objections and budgets.”

Apart from bus advertising formats, ComutaNet provides a gateway to taxi and bus advertising, boasting 11 media platforms in total. The company has firmly established itself as a trend setter in the specialist field of commuter transport advertising. Their media arsenal includes outdoor advertising, commuter transport branding and interactive promotions. More conventional media types, such as radio and television, are also added to the marketing mix.
Lotus FM targets 25-49 year-old South African Indians and offers quality entertainment and information to the urban areas of KwaZulu Natal, Gauteng, Cape and Port Elizabeth.
